Lobuche Peak Climbing is a challenging and rewarding Himalayan adventure located in the Everest region of Nepal. Rising to an elevation of 6,119 meters, Lobuche East Peak offers climbers spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Pumori. This expedition combines classic trekking through the Khumbu Valley with a technically engaging peak climb.

The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by trekking through traditional Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries and alpine landscapes. The itinerary includes proper acclimatization days and visits to iconic destinations such as Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, enhancing both safety and experience.

Although Lobuche Peak is classified as a trekking peak, it requires good physical fitness and basic mountaineering skills. Climbers receive pre-climb training on the use of climbing equipment, including crampons, ropes, harnesses and ice axes. The summit day involves snow and ice sections with fixed ropes, providing an exciting alpine experience.

Accommodation is provided in comfortable teahouses during the trek and in fully serviced tents during the climbing phase. Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by a professional representative from Conqueri Trek and Expedition holding a personalized placard. After greeting and assistance with your luggage, you will be transferred to your designated hotel in a private tourist vehicle.

You may rest at the hotel or explore the surrounding area at your leisure. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Kathmandu City Sightseeing and Expedition Preparation

After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You may also explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

In the afternoon, you will return to the hotel for final expedition preparations and a detailed briefing with your trekking and climbing guides. Overnight in Kathmandu.
 

Day 3

Fly Kathmandu/Ramechhap to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,650m) | 3 Hours

You will take a scenic flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla either directly from Kathmandu or via Ramechhap, depending on the flight schedule and season.

Upon arrival in Lukla, you will meet additional trekking crew members. The trek begins with a pleasant walk through pine forests, small Sherpa settlements, mani walls, prayer flags and teahouses to Phakding. Optional visits to nearby monasteries can be arranged. Overnight in Phakding.
 

Day 4

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) | 6–8 Hours

After breakfast, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges while enjoying views of Kusum Kanguru and Thamserku. The final section involves a steep ascent, offering your first glimpse of Mount Everest.

You arrive at Namche Bazaar, the main trading center of the Khumbu region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5

Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

This day is dedicated to altitude acclimatization. You will explore Namche Bazaar and hike to higher elevations for proper adaptation. Optional excursions include Everest Viewpoint, Khumjung Village and the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center.

From these viewpoints, enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and surrounding peaks. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,840m) | 5–7 Hours

The trek begins along a wide scenic trail with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. You descend to Phunki Thenga for lunch before climbing through pine and rhododendron forests to Tengboche.

Tengboche is home to the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. You will visit Tengboche Monastery to observe the afternoon prayer ceremony. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 7

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m) | 4–5 Hours

The trail descends through forested paths before crossing a suspension bridge and ascending gradually to Pangboche Village, passing mani walls and chortens. After lunch at Somare, the route follows the river with a gradual ascent to Dingboche.

Dingboche is known for its stone-walled fields that protect crops from cold winds and wildlife. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8

Acclimatization Day at Dingboche

You will hike to Nangkarsang Peak (Dingboche Ri – 5,070m) for acclimatization and breathtaking mountain views before returning to Dingboche for overnight stay.
 

Day 9

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,900m) | 5–6 Hours

The trek continues to Thukla, where you stop for refreshments before ascending to Chukpi Lhara (Memorial Wall), honoring climbers who lost their lives in the Himalayas.

The trail then gradually ascends to Lobuche, with views of Nuptse, Pumori and Lobuche Peak. Overnight in Lobuche.
 

Day 10

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,100m) and Hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) | 6–8 Hours

You trek to Gorakshep, leave your belongings at the lodge and continue to Everest Base Camp via the Khumbu Glacier moraine.

From Everest Base Camp, enjoy views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks before returning to Gorakshep for overnight stay.

Day 11

Kala Patthar (5,557m) Sunrise Hike and Trek to Lobuche Peak Base Camp | 6–7 Hours

Early in the morning, hike to Kala Patthar, one of the best viewpoints for Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam and surrounding peaks.

After returning to Gorakshep for breakfast, trek back to Lobuche Peak Base Camp, located in a secluded valley beneath the mountain. The afternoon is spent organizing climbing gear. Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 12

Lobuche Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5,400m)

A steady three-hour climb brings you to High Camp. After setting up camp and having lunch, you rest and prepare for the summit attempt. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 13

Summit Lobuche Peak (6,119m) and Descend to Thukla (4,620m) | 7–8 Hours

You wake around 1:00 a.m. and begin the summit push via the Southeast Ridge, climbing over snow and ice with fixed ropes where necessary.

After reaching the summit (East Summit), enjoy magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse and more. You then descend carefully to Thukla for overnight rest.

Day 14

Trek from Thukla to Tengboche (3,850m) | 5–6 Hours

The trail descends through Pheriche, offering enjoyable downhill walking with beautiful Himalayan scenery. An optional visit to Upper Pangboche Monastery, the oldest monastery in the region, can be made before ascending through forest trails to Tengboche. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 15

Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3,450m) | 4–5 Hours

Descending to lower altitudes, the trek becomes easier and more comfortable. After passing through forests and suspension bridges, you return to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche.

Day 16

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,850m) | 6–8 Hours

The final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River through Sherpa villages, prayer stones and forests. A final ascent leads back to Lukla.

In the evening, a farewell celebration is organized with your trekking and climbing crew, including a tip distribution ceremony. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 17

Lukla to Kathmandu/ Ramechhap flight and drive to Hotel

After a long memorial journey in Mountains, today we fly back to Kathmandu. We can rest and relax at the hotel. In the afternoon you can spend your time at last minute shopping or exploring sights you’ve missed. We end our Adventure with a farewell dinner in the evening.
 

Day 18

Final Departure to home

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be transferred to the airport by one of our staff members from where you will depart.

FAQs

Lobuche Peak is located in the Everest (Khumbu) region of Nepal, near the Khumbu Glacier and close to Everest Base Camp.

Lobuche Peak is more challenging than Island Peak and is recommended for trekkers with good high-altitude trekking experience. Basic mountaineering knowledge is helpful, and training is provided at base camp.

Prior technical climbing experience is not mandatory, but familiarity with using crampons, ropes, harnesses, and ice axes is an advantage

You will need a Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit and a Lobuche Peak Climbing Permit.

Accommodation includes 3-star hotels in Kathmandu, teahouses during the trek and tents at high camp during the climbing phase.

All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided during trekking and climbing. Meals in Kathmandu are included as per the itinerary.

Trekking days generally involve 5–7 hours of walking, while summit day can take 8–10 hours.
