Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative of Conqueri Trek and Expedition. You will then be transferred to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle.
Later in the day, a pre-trip meeting will be organized where you will meet your trekking guide. During this briefing, you will receive detailed information about the Pikey Peak Trek, review the itinerary and have the opportunity to ask any questions or clarify concerns regarding the upcoming trekking adventure. Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will begin a guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley, exploring its rich cultural and historical heritage. In the morning, you will visit renowned Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), each reflecting the spiritual traditions and cultural diversity of Nepalese society.
In the afternoon, you will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites known for their ancient palaces, temples and intricate architecture. In the evening, you will return to your hotel. Overnight stay: Hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar (2,850m)
Driving Distance: 240 km | Duration: Approximately 8 hours After an early breakfast, you will begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar. The journey follows the banks of the Sun Koshi River and passes through Ghurmi village. Along the way, you will enjoy views of dense forests, terraced farmlands, traditional villages and flowing rivers. Upon arrival at Dhap Bazaar, you may take a short walk around the local market area to experience rural mountain life. Overnight stay: Mountain lodge in Dhap Bazaar.
Trek from Dhap Bazaar to Japre (2,815m)
Distance: 14 km | Duration: 4–5 hours Today marks the beginning of the trekking journey. Leaving Dhap Bazaar, the trail gradually ascends toward Sigane, from where you can enjoy distant views of the Numbur Himal range.
The trail follows a road under construction for the first part before reaching the village of Japre, situated above a deep valley. Japre offers impressive views of Mount Everest and Numbur Himal. The village is home to a small Buddhist monastery and stupa, adding to its cultural charm. Overnight stay: Local lodge in Japre.
Trek from Japre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640m)
Distance: 13.7 km | Duration: 5–6 hours After breakfast, the trail climbs steadily toward Bhulbhule, a grassy ridge offering beautiful views of the Everest range. From here, the trail branches toward Pikey Peak.
Along the route, you will pass old yak shelters, long mani stone walls carved with Buddhist prayers and traverse forested hillsides below Taklung Danda. The trail winds through rhododendron forests, especially vibrant during the spring season.
After leaving the forested area, a gradual ascent of about two hours leads to Pikey Peak Base Camp. Overnight stay: Tourist lodge at Pikey Peak Base Camp.
Trek from Pikey Peak Base Camp to Pikey Peak (4,065m) and Descend to Jase Bhanjyang (3,520m)
Distance: Approximately 5 km | Duration: 4–5 hours An early morning start takes you to the summit of Pikey Peak, one of the finest viewpoints in the region. From the top, you will witness a breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Gaurishankar, Langtang, Thamserku, Kangtega and Numbur Himal, among others.
After enjoying the magnificent scenery, you will descend carefully to Jase Bhanjyang. Although the walking distance is short, the steep ascent and descent make this a physically demanding day. Overnight stay: Lodge in Jase Bhanjyang.
Trek from Jase Bhanjyang to Junbesi (2,680m)
Distance: 11 km | Duration: 5–6 hours After breakfast, the trek continues through dense forests and open meadows. Passing through the village of Taktor, you will stop for lunch before continuing toward Junbesi along a wide dirt road.
Before reaching Junbesi, you may visit a local Buddhist monastery. Junbesi is a picturesque Sherpa village known for its stupa, monasteries and welcoming teahouses. The village is inhabited by Sherpa, Magar and Tamang communities. Overnight stay: Lodge in Junbesi.
Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2,380m)
Distance: 13.3 km | Duration: 5–6 hours Today’s trek follows a descending trail alongside the Junbesi Khola. After crossing a steel suspension bridge, you reach Beni Ghat and continue through scenic landscapes toward Phaplu.
Upon arrival in Phaplu, you may enjoy local cuisine and, if available, participate in a traditional Sherpa cultural program. Overnight stay: Lodge in Phaplu.
Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu (1,350m)
Driving Distance: Approximately 280 km | Duration: 9–10 hours After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu by jeep. The journey offers final views of the countryside before reaching the capital city.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be arranged at a traditional Nepali restaurant, where you can enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine and cultural ambiance. Overnight stay: Hotel in Kathmandu.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport – Final Departure
Today marks the end of your journey in Nepal. A representative from Conqueri Trek and Expedition will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport approximately three hours prior to your scheduled international flight for your onward journey.
